This isn't just a box of records; it's a mission. We've curated a one-of-a-kind pack with three randomly selected records from different genres, specifically for producers and beatmakers.

 

What's In The Box?

 

Each Crate Challenge box contains 3 vinyl records:

• 1 Soul/R&B Record
• 1 Eclectic Record (Could be Jazz, World, Soundtrack, Spoken Word, etc.)
• 1 Rock/Pop Record

 

The Challenge

 

The goal is simple: Flip what you get. Get in the lab, find the hidden gems, and cook up some new heat. This is your chance to sample something you'd never think to pull from the crate yourself.

To give you a true "crate digging" experience, these records are selected for their sampling potential, not their cosmetic condition. They are not guaranteed to be VG+ and may have pops, hiss, light scratches, or cover wear. It's all part of the challenge—finding the gold in the grit.

The crew at CrossFader will do our absolute best to track down the vinyl within your search criteria and, most importantly, within your budget. If we find the record but the price bumps up a bit beyond your budget, no sweat—we'll always check in with you for approval before we move forward.

Just so you know: We'll put in the work, but sometimes the item you're looking for is just too rare or out of reach. In those instances, we may not be able to secure it

-For any record with a final price over $50, we require a 50% deposit. We only ask for this deposit after we've successfully located and secured the vinyl. Once you give us the final go-ahead, we'll process the purchase through CrossFaderLA.com.

-If we find a high-value item over $200, we'll handle the introduction! We'll give you the necessary information to complete the purchase directly with the third-party seller. For these high-value transactions, CrossFader assumes no responsibility for the final purchase or delivery of the item.

Our Refund Policy

We only provide a full refund of your deposit if we are unable to secure the record for you. Once the vinyl is secured, and you've approved the final purchase, that deposit becomes non-refundable. Since we've already done the legwork and secured the record based on your request, we can't process cancellations or refunds for things like, "Oops, I changed my mind," or "Actually, I don't love these tracks."

CrossFader is a brand dedicated to promoting creative expression across various mediums, including art, music, and graphic design. Inspired by DJ culture, CrossFader offers a unique range of clothing, accessories, and miscellaneous items that embody a blend of culture, diversity, and creativity. The brand's mission is to foster inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation, represented by its Seal of CrossFader, which encapsulates elements such as love, belief, music, production, art, individual voices, and DJ culture. CrossFader aspires to establish a physical store that serves as a haven for music enthusiasts and fashion-forward individuals, featuring a curated selection of vinyl records, CrossFader merchandise, and a cozy coffee bar. The store aims to push boundaries, blend genres, and inspire its audience to embrace their creativity and individuality.

Mario Winston- After retiring from Costco Wholesale, embarked on a new venture. With three decades of dedicated service, including 26 years in management, he accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge that shaped his leadership approach. While fully committed to Costco Wholesale's success, his passion for art, fashion, music, and merchandising remained ever-present. Activities such as DJing, music production, and graphic design took a backseat as he prioritized providing for his family. He takes pride in being a devoted father to two exceptional sons and a husband to a supportive and inspiring wife. Their combined aspirations led to the founding of CrossFaderLA, a platform that fosters creativity and commerce.

Sara Winston-  With over 10 years of management experience in various areas of retail management, including general and niche concepts, she has joined CrossFader in its early stages. Her time at Long Beach State has instilled in her a commitment to productivity, efficiency, fairness, and consistency. She has extensive experience in merchandising, receiving, point of sale, and marketing, and she is always looking for ways to improve. Sara's dedication and experience will be invaluable in overseeing CrossFader's growth and success.

Jeramiah Winston- A highly skilled Black illustrator and graphic designer, he is passionate about fantasy illustrations and the representation of People of Color in art. With a background as a Media Assistant, Jeramiah is proficient in multiple industry standard programs. Their academic degree from Stanford University and experience in media and communication make them our creative director and brand coordinator.  

Jonathan Winston- Holds a Bachelor's in Sociology and excels in event coordination and social research. They specialize in providing comprehensive reports, opinions, and testimonies for legal matters. Skilled in communication, collaboration, and project management, Jonathan combines sociological knowledge and event coordination expertise to support clients and experts. They are passionate about driving innovation and offering strategic solutions to make a positive impact. Notably, Jonathan is the architect behind the Vinyl Thoughts Podcast.
